Logan

There has been a lot of planning for today. Far more than was necessary. Even more research was done, though that was partly for his own sake. Searches on etiquette and expectations, and applying these new rules to Chishiya specifically. Phone calls and strings pulled and money thrown around. Not much. Nothing extravagant. Nothing over the top. Which is harder than he expected when he wants to take Chishiya to all the most expensive and highly rated places in Tokyo. Casual, it turns out, is far more of a challenge for Logan than any alternative.

Logan turns up exactly on time, knocking on Chishiya's door and then taking a step back while he waits. He feels far more nervous than he should be. Maybe it's the fact that he's wearing jeans and a jumper, even if they are smart and brand new. Or maybe it's because his hands are full with chocolates and flowers, a bouquet of white roses and peonies, with a few tactfully placed red roses. It's cheesy, and maybe a bit much, but they can laugh at it and Logan can play it off as a joke if Chishiya thinks it's ridiculous. He hopes Chishiya doesn't think it's ridiculous.

One of the biggest benefits to leaving Albion is being able to be anonymous in a foreign country, and being able to explore with more freedom than he's ever had in his life. An unexpected side effect is finding truly lovely coffee shops in which he can enjoy a drink at his leisure. What he hadn't considered is that he might one day be bringing someone along to one of his new favourite haunts. 

It's a place which hasn't been chosen for him, or vetted by officials. A place which doesn't even know who he is, though the staff are starting to recognise him as a repeat customer. It's a cute little place. Clean, comfortable, independently owned, with enough nooks to provide a little privacy and tables by the window for when he wants to watch the world go by. Also, as he promised, they have cakes rivalling a French patisserie.

Logan arrives early, because anything less would be rude, and waits outside. It's a nice enough day and he wants to make sure Kate knows exactly where to meet him. She'll have to excuse him for not dressing more casually than a nice suit. He doesn't know how to. At least his jacket is draped over his arm and he's not wearing a tie.
